Problema Solution

In stormy conditions, a delivery truck can travel a route in 14 hour. In good weather, the same trip can be made in 10.5 hour because the truck travels 15km/hour faster. Find the speed of the truck in stormy weather and in good weather.

Answer provided by our tutors

Let Distance travelled = x

Speed on stormy conditions = x/14

Speed on good weather day = x/10.5

x/10.5-x/14 = 15

=> 3.5x = 15*14*10.5

=> x = 630 km

Hence speed on stormy day = 630/14 = 45 km/hr

Speed on good weather day = 60 km/hr
