A young girl of mass 40 kg stands on a chair so she can reach a book on the top of her bookcase. The mass of the chair is 10 kg. Determine at the force of the chair on the girl.

Force of cair on the girl is the Normal force equal and opposite in direction to the force of girl on chair.
Hence F(in magnitude) = 40 X 9.8 = 392 Newton
