Problema Solution
A wheel initially at rest, is rotated with a constant acceleration of 4 rad/s2 for 15s. The wheel is then brought to rest in 25 rev by applying a constant decelaration. Find the decelaration and the time it takes to bring the wheel to a stop from its maximum speed.
Answer provided by our tutors
constant acceleration = 4 rad/sec^2
so the velocity of the wheel after 1 seconds of acceleration= acceleration * time
= 60 rad/ sec
we know 1 radian = pi/ 180
so 2 pi radian = 1 revolution
so 25 revolutions = 50 pi radian
= 50*22/7 rad
so theta = 50*22/7
do deceleration = ((initial velocity(60 rad/sec))^2)/2* theta
so deceleration = 3600*7/(2*50*22)
decceleration = 11.455 rad/sec^2
