LET THE BOAT SPEED BE X ND STREAM SPEED BE Y
SO 45/(X+Y)=5
=>9=X+Y
AND
45/(X-Y)=9
=>X-Y=5
SO ADDING BOTH WE GET X= 7 AND Y =2
SO RATE OF CURRENT IS 2 MILES PER HOUR(ANSWER)
