Problema Solution
A chemist wants to make 500 mL of a 23% acid solution using 10% acid solution and 30%acid solution. How much of the 30% acid solution should he use in the mixture?
Answer provided by our tutors
total acid in final solution=500*23/100=115ml
suppose x ml of solution first(30%) was taken. so solution second(10%) taken=(500-x)
so 115=(x*30/100)+((500-x)*10/100)
so 115=0.3x+50-0.1x
so 0.2x=115-50=65
so x=65/0.2=325ml of 30% solution.
