Solving Systems of Linear Equations
BY CRAMER’ S RULE
Solve a System of Equations with 3 variables :
Number each original equation 1,2 & 3.
Choose any 2 equations and use the addition
method to eliminate one of the variables. Number
the resulting equation with only 2 variables as
equation #4.
Choose remaining equations and use addition
method to eliminate the same variable. Number
the resulting equation as equation #5.
Use the elimination method for equations 4 & 5,
eliminating either of the remaining 2 variables and
solve for other .
Substitute that solution in either equation 4 or 5 and
solve for the other remaining variable.
Substitute both solutions in any of the original
equations and solve for the final remaining
variable.
Solution : (0,2,2)
