simplify quadratic equation- standard form

Hello people . I am a student in the College Algebra. I like math very much since I was little . Unfortunately I have come to a point where I can no longer solve my math exercises on my own . I had a math tutor , who helped me for a while with my homework, but I had to pay a lot of money that I had to tell him not to come anymore. Today we learnt something new: simplify quadratic equation- standard form, and when I came home from school I realized that I can't do my math homework, and that freaked me out . I also still don't understand difference of cubes and function composition. What should I do now? I love math and I don't want to have low grades.
